Part 2 to u from me

ok so now that u've had a vision board on what u want....hav u been looking at it everyday? do u believe that u'll achieve it? now here's the part where i tell u to believe the impossibility.... dun be discouraged by saying OHHHnnnoooo here comes the positive thinking....well dats right u gotta be positive that u will absolutely achieve your goals.... if u dun belive, no one else will believe it for u...n bare in mind that YOU DUN HAV TO SEE IT TO BELIEVE IT...if u see it in ur mind u'll see it in ur eyes...

being optimistic also doesnt help if u heart doesnt believe or have the passion towards your goal...i'll give u n example, say u wanna find ur life partner by the end of the year.... but if ur actions and ur belive doesnt sync....i can guarantee that u'll be disappointed...so when u want something....let the people know, ( well you dun hav to announce it on ur FB or twitter status) what i mean is when people ask u when r u gonna kahwin, alwayz & alwayz answer something positive that way your reminding yourself that u wan to find your life partner & never contradicting yourself....sometimes when u tell people, doors open... & if u contradict ur self...opportunity might pass u by....

now that u have a vision board.... for it to be more effective i want you to visualize the event in detail how u achieve your goal...of course u may not know how, but create an event in ur mind & play it like its a memory.....for eg, if u wanna find ur life partner, create an event how u meet him...maybe at a restaurant? or a function..... picture it in ur mind how u wan him to approach u....visualize it like ur playing a movie in ur head.... now do this every nite before u go to bed....
Now the most important part of this process....is when u visualize this event in ur head....u hav to believe it with ur head & heart that u gonna meet this person...even better if u could include how u feel when u meet this guy (nervous, excited).....feeling how u get what u want is important coz it create good feelings and when u constantly hav good feelings good things comes when ur feeling good....

ever notice when 1 bad thing happend in a day, more bad things happen later on that day (if u stick to being bad mood)...so u gotta keep having good feelings...to help create good things...
(will write more later)
so wat i want u to focus now is to visualize the event in ur head & believe it like it had already happened...insyaAllah.... i've done this...people close to me had done it... so its all up 2 u...how bad do u want change??

Material girls

Was jus talking to my designer regarding my wedding dress...m still not sure to do 2 piece or a dress...(of course la kene cover, maklumla my parents are very conservative pple...alasan die...nanti org kata tak senonoh la...blablabla...) ok enuff of me...while we were discussing abt my reception outfit...we got to talking abt materials or kain 2 buy...

it got me thinking abt some of my friends when they expressed their anxiety when they purchased such lovely materials but unable to do much with it due to the material condition...
so m gonna give u some of the designers advice to me on looking for your material...

before you go all excited to shop for you wedding dress fabric, decide on the design u want or shud i say suits ur body type, then consult ur designer on what fabrics is the best for that particular design...that way u knoe how many meters u need ( u wldnt accidentally buy extra coz the sales girl told u that the fabric is on discount ) your lining fabrics, your veil fabrics if u need any lace (to patch it on ) & so on so forth.... Yeah i knoe it can be great fun browsing thru the many exquisite fabrics available, BUT DONT BE TEMPTED to purchase anything until you've double- checked with an expert or u could end up making a very EXPENSIVE mistake...

so, before u buy....

1) find a style that suits u
2) call or search for a designer at your liking
3) make appointment & discuss the style...let the designer turn the style into a design...
with the approve design....

1) either ask your designer type of fabric /
2) take a small fabric sample for approval or better yet
3) take your designer to go fabric shopping with you (p/s : did you knoe designers/ tailors get special discount from fabric stores...bonus points for your budget!!!

so even though u want that beaded chiffon sooo badly.....Sabar ye....wait & c what your designer says...after all he/she are the industry experts....Then all you need to do is take a deep breath, relax and let your designer create magic with you beautiful bridal fabric....

ok till then c u :)

walk with me

hey peeps...FIFA world cup is here & every world cup/ euro cup me & frens will play the mcd fantasy football to challenge each other & c who's the best team managers among us...& us gurls got so into it to prove to guys that we also can b an awesome soccer manager...ooh well as bz & frustrated that spain lost their first game ( euro cup champions jinx - look at greece) i've been meaning to blog but jus couldnt find the right time..so here i am on friday afternoon when m supposed to be doing report m blogging abt SHOES....

YEah finally i get to talk on shoes in weddings...
some brides may not find it as important as their dress.....Who says they are not IMportant???? look how beautiful the louboutin shoes is heheheh picture this...u in ur soft lilac baju sanding...wearing this pair wahhh doesnt that make u feel like the queen of the day....anywayz, this is the one day in ur life u get 2 wear ur dream shoes... ok mayb to the fortunate, u wear those everyday, but im sure u dun plan on wearing bling2 shoes to work & definitely safe to say im sure u wanna save the best bling for ur wedding....

Although the wedding shoe culture havent really hit us malays yet, coz we tend to opt for the matchy matchy songket shoes...or jus crystald wedding shoes (its totally fine if dats wat u really want) , great shoes choices can make a huge difference for us bride, beside's it can be your hantaran from him... so 1 shoe no spending required :P hehehhehe

white, ivory, silver, gold....dats the normal colours bride opt for...well u dun hav 2 be the same as everyone else, so if ur planning on wearing white or ivory dress, (baju nikah/ reception) so y dun u choose some coloured shoe...like this pastel pink badgley mishcka looks so stunning with white baju nikah......

Look of LOVe

Ola...had a very bz week...but a good one...cant wait for the weekend wher i could jus chill & catch up with my gfs...hehehh anywayz, back to me blogging.. today m gonna ramble on abt hairstyles... i cldnt stress more on how important hairstyle for brides...coz the way u wear ur hair can make it or break it... whats the point of spending so much on ur dress when ur hair macam tongkang pecah LOL ( apologies for the weird description) but yeah u get wat i mean rite?? & believe me u will care, especially when u paid a huge amt on photographers & videographers...& in the video or the photo everything looked beautiful except your hair....such a small part in the wedding but a very important one .... so ladies avoid future disappointments & read on..

so you've browse magazines looking for hairstyle..& u have a few types that u like...but hav u ever thought whether that particular style worn by some celeb or model suits u?

...or ok so u leave it to ur stylist coz thats wat u paying them for right??? well wrong...they mayb a stylist but they dun style u full time.... so only u knoe wat looks good on u...even if they style ur hair full time im sure ur gonna opt for a different hairdstyle to look different on ur big day...so my first advice to u is to find out whats your FACE SHAPE...& note that not everyone suits that side swept look that some off u dreamed off ....

beauty tip 1#
understand your face shape so u can use your hair to balance out & play ur best features..grab a mirror, pull back ur hair & ask urself these questions :
1) from hairline to jawline, what is the overall shape
2)is my forehead wider than my jaw line?
3) is my jaw line wider than my forehead?
4)how prominent & rounded are my cheekbones?

Square : you have a wide forehead and a strong jaw line

Incredible hairstyle for u:
like Carmen Electra, you'll look gorgeous with a soft, side swept fringe, or layers around the front and some curl/movement aimed inwards to soften your face

AVOID: Vicious partings and harsh slick styles

Round : Characterized by a round chin and softter "corners" along the jaw line & forehead

Incredible style for u : Add height up top like Charlize Theron, but minimize hair width by keeping it smooth at the sides and around the ear( making the face appear longer)

AVOID: Pulling your hair back in a tight & slick style

Oval: Your overall face shape is, well egg-like. Soft & balance like Eva Longoria, you've got the most versatile shape so you suits alot of different styles

Incredible style for you: your hair gently parted to one side, and back in a soft, low chignon (A roll or knot of hair worn at the back of the head or especially at the nape of the neck)

AVOID: Covering your face with masses of overdone curls. show off your gorgeous shape

Beauty tip 2# : Dont lose your identity, your style shud suit you!
if you dont like or wear overdone updos, tight curls or even long hair, who says you have to for your wedding? never forget your organic style. Make sure you actually like the hairstyle your goin to hav and feel comfortable with it. & that your not doing it because of how the veils sits or because your stylist says extravagant braids are "what everyone's doing"

HEART: Like Jessica Alba, your widest at the forehead , with a slightly pointed chin

Incredible do's for u : A do that creates width around your chin-graduated layers around front are good. as are soft curls

AVOID: Anything straight or flat

So hopefully these helps the bride 2 be's...and jus remember Its a simple rule:

Intricate dress=Simple hair
Simple dress= Intricate hair.

So if your dress is a pearl beaded work of art, a centre part and loose waves could look great. whereas if ur wearing something like a simple slip, an audrey hepburn chignon might be the order of the day. so hav fun researchin for your hair...lagipun kan rambut 2 mahkota wanita hehehhe ....ok till then c u :)

my dear, i knoe wat u r going thru & i've gone thru the same thing as you....so dun feel as if ur the only one in the world facing this issue....

the first step is the easy part according to some people...but there are people who still cant figure it out... so all i want you to do is to sit down & really think abt what do u want? think carefully & be specific with wat u want...if u could draw it, then do it...or desribe in a piece of paper...or if ur a more IT person take images & compile
it together...wat ever u do...jus be specific with wat u want....some people may hav too many wants than they'll lose focus on wat do they really want now....so think carefully about wat u really want in ur life right now...think abt it...

u sure? ok i'll let u sleep on it & i'll tell u wats next....

crying is overrated

Last month,
a friend of mine cried & pour her heart out saying her man cheated on her & this week i saw them happily dining together..i was like ?????? thats when i started thinking abt the past & it makes me wonder how do i ever went thru all these drama's in relationship, cheating men, controlling men...& what did i do? i stayed by their side for years...then i start pondering, y do some of these women stayed in the relationship when they knoe ther's no future? is it coz they think that by waiting they hoped that the men will change & then they can have a future or these women jus love to torture themselves?

someone wise once told me its better to be disliked for being who you are than to be loved for who you are not.. see in my experience, i stayed in the relationship changing myself hoping that he would change & hence the relationship would change....well looked where that got me...straight to hell.. i shud hav known better that i shudnt change myself...infact rather than changing me, i shud be focusing on me...& i shud be thinkin "what do i get from this guy by being with him?" sadly there are plenty of women out there...wondering & crying on y do their men torture them & yet their still with these men....ask yourself back sweetie? y r u with them if they torture u? LOVE? if torture is love then my dear you need a new dictionary...

open your eyes ladies, there are so many other good men & dun waste your time on these jerks...he doesnt deserve you..enuff sed....

just remember this, "when u stand up for yourself in a dignified, feminine n womanly way, you can get anything you want from a man. When u place a high value on yourself in the right way,
so will he" sherry argov

till then c u:)

dress me up baby

OLA...yeay my blog hav been beautified by my lovely &
talented sister... the more reason for me to keep writting...m so xcited coz its so purtttyy hehehhe & its so maju with all the widgets & stuff...even i dun even knoe how to add these things lol...

okay back to the brides....im gonna talk more on brides dresses....there are so many new & upcoming creative designs of wedding outfit/gown but no matter how you think fit with ur taste, there are a few lingo in the design world that you shud be familliar of when u sit next to your designer...(so u dun look like duhhh) hehheheh . True enuff u shud trust ur designer's design
but m sure u bride to be browse like gazillion bride mags to find a designs dat suits ur liking...

Anyhow here's some style savy for u peeps....so when u browse those mags...u can look for the best cut for your body style :)

*Ball Gown- It features a fitted bodice, contrasted by a dramatic, full skirt
will suit: most figures, but may overwhelm shorter and more petite brides. ball gown is fantastic for diguising wide hips and large thighs and can also help balance out bustier brides

*A-line- as the name suggests, this silhouette boast a fitted bodice that
slopes gently outwards from the waistline to form a triangular 'A' shape.
will suit: jus abt everyone, but shud be avoided if ur waist is thick

*Princess- This silhouette is very similar to the A-line, with vertical seams runn
ing frm the shoulders to the hemline.
will suit- tall, short, slim, voluptuous- the princess
-style flatters most figure

*slip dress- the figure hugging slip dress. bias cut fabric caresses the curves in a style that is both elegant and sophisticated.
will suit- brides who are fairly slim but feminine-curves are needed to make a statement

*sheath/column- straight & sexy. the sheath is very fitted and slimline style that follows the line of the body. It has no defined waistline. the column differs from the sheath in that it is cut with a straight weft and vertical seams to hug the figure.
will suit-fairly tall, slender brides, but may also add an illusion of height to petite figures

*mermaid- A narrow style that fits to the body then flairs out below the knee. not an easy style to wear as it actually adds curves
will suit- slim & athletic or those with an in- proportion hourglass figure

*bustle back- remember that gorgeous dress from titanic? the one that went out at the back? well thats bustle back.
will suit- women who's got bust & bum like kate from titanic

*empire- a high waisted silhouette with the skirt
beginning just below a cropped bodice
will suit- thick waisted & boxy figures & petite brides as well....

So go on ladies...check & c whether the style dat u've had in mind suits ur figure...after all the wedding is all abt u :)

ok till then c u :)

the hunt begins

Amazing how im enjoying
blogging now...hehehh anywayz im gonna jump for a bit from dresses to videographers, ive been hunting for video experts and im getting frustrated with it....its coz im very particular when comes to my wedding video...see me & my youngest sis hav been meddling with video making since we were in school which makes it more challenging coz i knoe wat kinda of flow i want in my video & after years of experience in helping her directing videos...its jus killing me that my video standards are very very high...

  • Manggis was the choice that ive decided on my wedding video, regardless of the cost...unfortunately someone already took them first :( so dats when the hunting begins...

  • went to CST- their video has good quality (DSLR), a few of their montage are quite alrite...but i find them very inconsistent with their highlights (some are good some not so) + they havent given me the quotes yet.

  • shutterspeak- not to bad...but CST has better highlights

  • prettypeektures- ALot more too learn

  • inmotions- great video highlight (great music selection, good flow) one of my choices...but the principal who does all the editing is getting married on the 10.10.10..jus a week after my wed so he's not available (great price tooo) :(

im an arsty person so i want my video highlight to be exciting, romantic and at the same time everytime when i watch it i want it to touch my heart ...& im a video person rather than a photo person so videos are rather important to me....& many video sampless that i've seen are not at par wit my standards or doesnt hav IT'...hmmm memilih kan hehhehe.. oh well 2 more appointments next week will c....hehhehe

videographer selection tips
1) before paying them the deposit make sure u agree on the DELIVERY TIME... sign on it...avoid waiting tooooo damn long for ur wedding video..ur their client tooo u deserve the best quality service WITH or without discount....

2) never agree to pay 100% before u received the final goods...

3) make sure they come recce (have a look at ur hse, see how long the cable they need, wher's best to put ur pelamin for a better view in the camera, lighting issue)your house...eventho they say they are pro...dun leave it up to ur wedding day for them to setup their cables & wires...

ok till then c u:)

As for my designer, philip a family designer...i love the way he looked at u & straight away he knows what u love...& he's very easy to work with & his work is beautiful & his attention to detail is emaculate. he did my sisters dresses for her wedding & i love love his work...so ladies..before you choose a designer, make sure

1) you love his/her work
2) comfortable working with them
3) they are able to hear & listen 2 wat u want

Searching for the perfect dress....

Now you've decided what kinda bride you wanna be.
..now lets narrow it down to what kinda dress is suitable for your body type, no matter wats your body type, if u wear something that suits you, you will look fabulous & stunning...forget the pictures in the magazine's that u've browse for a minute...find out wats ur body type whether its PEAR, HOURGLASS, APPLE, ATHELETIC/ SLIM or PETTITE

Pear shaped- pear shaped body is one that has narrow shoulders, small breasts, small waistline and heavier bottom with curvier butt and bigger hips. This kind of body tends to make you look unbalanced with a very small upper body, big out of proportion lower body with short legs. You should dress to balance your body shape and hide the pear shape as much as possible.

Pear Girls’ Guide to the Top Bits

Your Goals: Balance is the key word here, and for you it’s all about drawing the eye up and balancing what's going on below.

Necklines: V neck tops help balance out your shoulders and add shape to the bust area. Detailed necklines are also a great choice. Things like beading, ruching or pleating across the bust will add shape and give a fuller effect.

Strappy: Few people can really get away with the strapless or strappy thing like you can. Embrace it and go with it - everyone else is jealous, I assure you.

Minimise: Minimise the bottom half by going crazy with the top. Think silk, bright colours, detailing and all the rest. These will draw the eye up and when paired with dark basics or solid tones on the bottom will balance your entire figure.

Maximise: Many pear shaped girls would prefer a little more weight along the torso. You can fake this by going for ruching or buy padded bras and enhancers.

Remember... It’s great to be pear shaped because you can wear all the tops that others can’t. Stock up on silks and strapless numbers and watch other girls turn green with envy.

Hourglass-An hourglass body type has moderate to large bust and hips, and a small waist-generally 10 inches smaller than the bust and hips. The hourglass is the most highly desired body type for women due to its femininity. Dressing to flatter the hourglass body type focuses on proportion, since the top and bottom half balance out so well.

Your Goals: Showing off your assets stylishly will slim an hourglass frame, bringing the eye to areas you love while helping you skim over areas you’re not so confident with.

Shape It: Wrap around tops and dresses are great for an hourglass as they emphasise your naturally thin waist. The same goes for cinched waist anything or items that belt or cinch at the true waist. Tailoring is your key here.

De Bulk: Thin weight fabrics like matt suiting gives a slimming line to your figure but doesn't add bulk. Keep this in mind when shopping for knitwear as well – the finer the knit the more flattering the finish.

Support: This includes supportive semi-firm fabrics in a dress to supportive bras that lift the bust or thicker straps on a top that keep a nice line across the shoulders. Because you have curvy figure support is key – keep this in mind when looking for any items.

Neckline: You will find items that come to a V are the most flattering along the neck. This is because they draw the eye down to the décolletage but also slim and narrow your quite wide chest. Because hourglass figures usually boast larger busts it's also important to keep this in mind, and not make a large bust look completely out of proportion by pairing it with a neckline that is too high.

Matte and Monotone: Keeping colours monochromatic gives a stylish finish and keeps you looking really well proportioned. While you can definitely wear colours and patterns well, care must be taken to not look too over the top. The more muted the better.

Sleevey: Sleeves not only add a little more shape across the shoulders, they are also a great way to flatter bigger arms. Fluted, three quarter and puff sleeves can instantly slim the entire arm as well as adding another layer of dimension.

If your legs and hips are slimmer than your upper half, you may fall into the APPLE category. The most flattering clothing styles will help you appear narrower in the shoulders and waist, and accentuate your best features, which are your legs and chest.

Your Goals: Accentuate slim arms and décolletage (you lucky things), whilst bringing some shape to your waist and balancing the torso.

Create a Waist: Doing so will slim down and balance your entire figure. Think cinched waist tops, waist belts, tailored nipped waist jackets and wrap around tops.

Flesh Focus: Show off your slim arms with great sleeve detailing. Cap sleeves, sleeveless tops and detailing around the shoulders are all great ideas. Remember that your full bust is also a great feature, go for tops that show this off!

Minimise: Darker colours and more matte or basic fabrics on top can help minimise and slim a torso whilst detailing around the neckline or below brings attention to great assets.

Empire: Empire line dresses will create balance and will disguise any areas you want to hide. You can even go with a large print that will keep all eyes on you whilst breaking up your frame and slimming the figure.

Your shape is... Petite
You have: A c
ute compact and lean body like Eva Longoria, Kylie Minogue and Natalie Portman.

Petite body types are smaller and often naturally toned. They will have broad shoulders and short legs. You're compact and small and for you it is all about creating length and curves and, of course, keeping it all in proportion.

Petite Girls’ Guide to the Top Bits

Your Goals: To keep the eye moving from top to bottom, to create flow from your top half to your bottom half and of course to not swamp your delicate figure.

One Tone: One colour top to toe will create proportion, lengthen the figure and all the while give you a great silhouette.

All in Proportion: Tops that are shorter in length, cropped jackets that don’t fall below the hips and items that are detailed just under the bust all give you a sense of proportion to your body. This means a perfectly balanced frame.

Chiffon and Sheer: Over wraps and tops in a sheer fabric (like chiffon, lace and tulle) allow you to add layers to an outfit and a little curve to your body, while still keeping the line of your body clear. It’s something that Kylie uses all the time – think a sheer chiffon caftan with a plaited waist tie over skinny leg denim.

Slim and athletic types will be straight up and down, perhaps with not much of a bottom or bust. You're straight and narrow and for you it is all about creating curves, curves curves!

Your Goals: Curve, curve, curve is the call of the day!

Strap and Strapless: Strapless bodices, form fitting shapes and strappy complex necklines are all something that smaller frames can get away with. So do it!

Print It: Little prints, contrasting colours and mixed and matched prints all add texture, which means curves in all the right places.

Shape Maker: Anything that creates shape is your best friend, such as pleating, detailing, beading, prints, pleats, ruching, silk and knitwear. All of these items create curves on the bust and hips which make them great options for slim girls.

Bold and Beautiful: Large jewellery (particularly necklaces) and bold colours around the neckline and top half keep all eyes on you and add a bit more depth to your frame. Choose colours that are punchy yet complement your skin tone.

Waisted: The illusion of a waist can be created in a number of ways, from belts around the waist to well-cut tailored jackets which flare out just below the waist.

Don’t Swamp: Tailored items will always look best on you, while boxy items will just swamp your body. You need tailoring to create form. This goes for the bottom half too.

now u knoe which body type are u.....now goooo look for dresses with ur body type!!! & also now u can exercise concentrating which part of your body u want to look best ;p

till then c u :)

Chapter 1- all about the bride

The first chapter is the bride's clothes.
why i choose this as the first chapter is because i think the bride is the main & most important thing in a wedding...therefore brides you come first yes not the THEME not the decor YOU first...

little birdie: You decide what you wanna wear first then you decide the theme :)

Ok so lets start with what kind of bride you wanna be....knowing wat kinda bride you wanna be can help you narrow down what theme you want.

here are a few to start with...

- Romantic bride

You want your wedding to be filled with flowers & candle, you've been dreaming of wearing white & only white for your wedding.. doesnt mean you don't like colors, you may wanna wear colors, but you opt for soft romantic colors....

Traditional bride
tradional babes you could play with lots off colours other than white, you probably dreamed of wearing songket with lots traditional hair accessories. this doesnt mean your options are just bright colors, you could also wear white but with a traditional design :)

-Fairytale bride

You dream of being a princess on your day & you love pastel colors such as pink, lavender...

Modern bride

simple is your motto, you have a specific design in your mind.

What if you wanna be modern & traditional, well you could if that's wat u opt for.. the whole point of knowing which bride you wanna be helps you eliminate all the other options you find for mags or people's suggestion...this way when ur thinking of a theme its makes it easier...so decide what kinda bride you wanna be, it might be romantic & modern or fairytale & romantic, whatever you decide, the theme will follow you..........

so till then c u 2moro :)

where to start

Im very excited to start my very first blog coz never in my life i be the kinda person to write a blog or even write anything...so here it goes...Im getting married soon and yess this blog is about weddings & some bits of its gonna be about my preparations but so, im gonna write about wedding planning which caters to each brides helping brides or more specifically malaysian digital native era brides who has no idea where to start & what to do...with an experience as an event planner & recently help planned my sister's wedding, hope this would do good to future to be brides in KL :)

So, wat is there in a typical malay wedding planning? usually a standard malay wedding would consist of, Nikah (solemnazation), Berinai Besar/kecil (family blessing & gathering), Sanding (extended family gathering) & reception ( For the parents friends). Malay weddings these days are huge & the guest list would go from a minimum 600-1200 (in KL). Alrite now to the good stuff... hehehheh...

No matter how many days is your ceremony, all of these ceremonies have few things in common & these are the things that you have to narrow it down before anything...

Decor- Pelamin & floral arrangement, dulang hantaran, bride's bouquet
Bride & groom's Clothing- make-up, accessories including bridesmaid & best's man
venue- location, food, emcee, band
Wedding favors- including wedding cake
Photographer & videographer- custom montage, pre & post.
stationery- invitations, thank you cards, guest of honour, seating arrangement

With each & every event that you plan, they all must hav the things that i list down above, however, depending on the event, there are other important things that is fairly important as well, however, i'll talk more on each event accordingly in later blogs.....

Now about me, looking for inspiration on what should i do with my life, i love doing events & i love weddings, some people told me to start a wedding planning business, but i dunno, there are tooo many wedding planners out there in KL, really good ones to, im looking for something different & so while i was browsing a wedding mag, i told to myself, i could do this, i could write a blog helping malay brides plan their weddings at the same time help me plan my wedding without having tooo much in my hands :)

Ok intro done...see you 2moro :)
